Help us build a foundation for ministry – Lenten Appeal

It’s that time again!

So what’s new with team two? After many travel days we’ve made it back to Ontario! But before all of that we’ve been bouncing around the west side of the country. From BC all the way to back here.

This month has been filled with fun retreats, talkative travel days and our awesome team leader’s b-days (shout out to Dom and Ellie!). There has been a lot to celebrate in both team life and mission life through all that God has been doing this month.

We had the opportunity to run an overnight retreat at a camp which ended up being such a fun and life-giving time for both us and the youth. A couple mission moments from those days were-

During prayer time, there was a group of 4 boys who kept coming up to me every 30 seconds asking me questions about the rosary, “ what do you do on this bead? how do you do this prayer?”. So I asked them if I could pray the rosary with them and lead them through it because they had never prayed it before and they agreed to let me pray it with them. They were very enthusiastic the entire way through and at the end they were so excited that they went to a bigger group of their friends to teach them how to pray it.”

And-

For an overnight retreat I got to run the reconciliation/confession line while adoration was happening and it was honestly the best job I could’ve been a part of. There were youth that just meekly would come up to me and say “where can I go for confession?” And they’d just willingly wait for a while just to have a chance to go. And the look on their faces when they left was just… I don’t know how to describe it. Some left reconciliation crying. It was genuinely such a beautiful gift seeing God move in their hearts that night.”

As a team we’ve been enjoying a lot (and i do mean a lot) of Dutch blitz, car camp songs and lively debates. Travel days are filled with laughter, deep conversations and naps- all in all a perfect mix. We’ve been shifting towards prayer and intercession for each other and asking God for strength and guidance in all that’s to come. I think we’ve all become pretty aware that we’re in the home stretch. We have less than 2 months left and we want to make the most of it- in investing in our relationships with each other and the ministry we’re doing. God has been so good through it all and we want to honour Him with the time He’s giving us.

Well that’s all for now folks!

Till next month:)

Team 2 out
